Cannes and sunshine.

When I first heard of
CANNES, movie stars, red carpets and jet sets come to mind plus the glitz and
the glamour, the home to the world-famous annual film festival, the old-rich-Europeans,
the expensive yachts and sport cars . True, Cannes is a luxurious French
Riviera city, a very unique one, with a certain aura of romance. A perfect
place to bask on the beach and feel the southern weather, to enjoy good wine
and good food, do some upscale shopping and even to spot a French or Hollywood
celebrity! Hold on, when I say upscale shopping I am not trying to exaggerate; there's an endlessssss collection of top-of-the-line jewellery shops,
haute-couture clothing and designer shops and art galleries. But as you know, it costs nothing to window shop and dream,
right?
In France, sunshine is expensive! Private beaches in Cannes cost roughly around 30 euros per person per use per day - that includes a beach umbrella and a lounge chair. Private beaches are not free even you are staying in a high-end hotel in Cannes. Pff, even the use of hotel’s pool and solarium is not complimentary. Paying to get some sun whereas I used to get unlimited sunshine in Ph for free! And yes, I am taking advantage of summer and trying to get the most Vitamin D that I can get. These are the days that I am going to miss when the autumn breeze and winter freeze start, the days that I need to take some Vitamin D supplement!
I am so privileged to come for the second time in Cannes. I love the French Riviera, not only because of its lux and class but basically I love to feel the southern sun on my skin and the salty taste of the sea wind... South of France will always have a special place in my heart. See you next summer!

drink the wild air… "
